2024 Interiors trends from Sims Hilditch

If you’re thinking of putting your property on the market this year, you’re no doubt already thinking about how you’re going to decorate your new home. To save you hours of Insta and Pinterest scrolling and to help get the creative juices flowing, we caught up with the experts - our friends at Sims Hilditch, the interior design studio synonymous with elegant, contemporary English living. Here, designer Becca Powis, shares the teams’ top interiors trends for 2024.

Colour

For neutral spaces, fifty shades of grey is less in favour with clients now leaning towards warmer neutral tones of creams and beiges. We’re also seeing a shift in bolder more vibrant colour selections by clients.

Flooring

When it comes to flooring, clients are opting for darker wood tones rather than orange hues or grey timbers.

Fabric

We’re loving Checkerboard as a pattern, both on fabric and rugs.

Wall Finishes

In stark contrast to the minimalism trend, we’re embracing texture and colour with fabric on walls and ceilings.

Furniture

Antique furniture and art are very popular as they help create a home that is full of personality and charm. We have applied the concept of adding in at least one antique to each room.

Bathrooms

Several clients have asked for a light, bright and fresh luxe feel in their bathrooms – re-creating their favourite spa.  We achieve this by using materials such as marble, adding accents of interior plants and planning mood lighting with wall lights rather than down lights.
